Amara Nallo sent off just four minutes into nightmare Liverpool debut
Amara Nallo was sent off on his Liverpool debut just four minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute.
The 18-year-old replaced Jayden Danns in the 83rd minute but had been shown a straight red card by the 87th for a last-man challenge on Johan Bakayoko.
Nallo looked devastated as he trudged off the pitch and was comforted by Arne Slot on the touchline as he waited for the video assistant referee to confirm the on-field referee's decision.
The England Under-19 international joined Liverpool from West Ham's academy in 2023 and was included in a senior matchday squad for the first time in February 2024.

Nallo had only previously appeared in two matchday squads under Arne Slot, against Newcastle in the Premier League and against Southampton in the EFL Cup, both in December, but he was an unused substitute in both.
In terms of the match itself, Liverpool suffered a 3-2 defeat as Slot saw his side lose its 100 per cent record in the competition.
Barcelona's draw with Atalanta ensured the Reds still finished at the top of the 36-team league, and Slot can not be too disappointed with his team's performance after fielding a team comprising a mix of fringe players and youngsters.
Cody Gakpo and Andy Robertson were the only two players that kept their places in the team from the weekend's win over Ipswich, with Slot resting the vast majority of his senior stars ahead of this weekend's trip to Bournemouth.
Liverpool led twice on the night, firstly through Cody Gakpo's penalty and then through a Harvey Elliott goal. Johan Bakayoko scored PSV's first equalizer and Ismael Saibari netted the second leveller, before Ricardo Pep clinched the winner, with all five goals coming during the first half.
