It's been six months since Sir Andy Murray bowed out from tennis, playing his last match at the Paris Olympics alongside doubles partner Dan Evans.

However, the former British No.1 cannot be accused of putting his feet up since, having stayed incredibly busy in his retirement from playing. In fact, last month he returned to the tennis world in a very surprising new role as a coach to long-time rival Novak Djokovic, teaming up with him for the Australian Open.

While it didn't work out for Djokovic in Melbourne - as he withdrew from the semi-final with injury - Murray has now seen his name linked with coaching fellow Brit Emma Raducanu, who recently parted ways with her coach.

Away from tennis, the Scot has also spent the early months of his retirement honing his skills on the golf course, as he aims to achieve a scratch handicap. In September, playing off a seven handicap, he made his debut at the prestigious BMW PGA Championship's Pro-Am in Wentworth before also being declared the day's winner at the inaugural BTJA Mike Dickson Golf Day at Hanbury Manor Golf Club in Hertfordshire.

Murrray impressed with his skills on the golf course, with Scottish golfer Robert MacIntyre - who played alongside him at Wentworth - admitting: "For someone that's not really played that much, I thought he was good. I was very impressed with his game. He'll be scratch in no time."

While golf has become his new passion, however, Murray has also been able to use his retirement to spend time with his wife Kim and their four children, Sophia, Edie, Teddy and Lola. This year, the tennis ace will celebrate 10 years of marriage with Kim - the daughter of tennis coach Nigel Sears - having met her at a party during the 2005 US Open.

During Murray's career, Kim was regularly seen cheering on her husband from the stands, with the two-time Wimbledon champion praising her for the support she offered him, particularly as he struggled with injury during a low point of his career.

"I don't know if the children noticed because when I'm with them I'm always trying to put on a brave face, but my wife definitely. It put a lot of strain on our relationship, just because I was down all the time," he said.

"She has been brilliant and I would probably be quite selfish, just in terms of thinking about myself and how I'm feeling all the time and not actually realising the impact that has on all the people around me."

Andy Murray's luxury hotel

After dating for nine years, the couple got married in Murray's hometown of Dunblane in Scotland, officially tying the knot at the town's cathedral before a reception at the stunning five-star Cromlix House hotel nearby.

There was a good reason for holding the reception there, as the couple had purchased it two years earlier for a reported sum of £1.8 million. As well as being their wedding venue, it was also where Murray's brother Jamie had got married five years earlier, while his grandparents had also celebrated their wedding anniversaries there.

The luxury hotel, which sits in 34 acres of private grounds and woodland, has 10 bedrooms, five suites and a one bedroom lodge, as well as its own private chapel, tennis court, pickleball court and a restaurant run by an award-winning chef.

The venue, which was constructed as a Victorian mansion and passed down the generations of the Drummond family, was run by a management firm until December 2022, when the Murrays announced they would be taking over the running of it. After undergoing extensive refurbishment, it is now one of the most sought-after luxury venues in Scotland, with room prices tending to range from between £350 to £950 per night according to KAYAK.

Kim has been hailed as "the creative force" behind the venture, with her eye for detail seeing her take an "active role in shaping the Cromlix experience". While she has no formal training in interior design, according to an interview with Country Living magazine, she previously considered enrolling at art college, while she also ran a pet portrait business called Brushes and Paws.

In that interview, she opened up on taking on the challenge of running the hotel, saying: “We’d finished having children and we’d finished building our house, so it seemed the perfect time. Having little kids has been all-consuming.

Renovating the hotel has enabled me to come out of motherhood and create something different. I think of it as a family project. Maybe in 15 years, the kids will be interested in it. I want to see where it takes us.”

Kim and the team have been recognised for all their hard work, with the hotel recently winning the AA Hotel of the Year award for Scotland. In a sweet social media post, her husband shared a photo of Kim with the trophy with the caption: "At least someone in the family can still win stuff. Congrats to my wife and all the team @cromlixhotel for winning the AA Hotel of the year award for Scotland."

Andy Murray's net worth

The hotel is just one of several properties Murray has splashed out on over the course of his career, with the three-time Grand Slam winner having an estimated net worth of a staggering £85 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. However, some sources suggest it could be closer to £100 million.

Such a figure is hardly surprising when you consider the Scot banked close to £52 million in winnings during his playing days, with that figure bolstered by endorsement deals and sponsorship partnerships with big names like Jaguar, Castore, Under Armour and Head, as well as collaborations with Amazon Prime Video, Standard Life and American Express.

As well as Cromlix, Murray's property portfolio over the years has included a sprawling £5 million mansion in Oxshott, Surrey and a luxury penthouse apartment in Miami, which he bought in 2008 before selling it for £2.4 million eight years later.
