Andy Robertson makes major donation to Scottish food bank

Liverpool fullback Andy Robertson is the footballer behind a large donation to ensure six Glasgow food banks are stocked during the current coronavirus pandemic.

The Scot has has helped the Glasgow NE food bank, not far from his first professional club Celtic’s stadium. The non-profit organisation has provided over 50,000 meals for various members in the surrounding area.

Last Wednesday the food bank publicly thanked a “Scottish footballer” for making what they referred to as a “large sum” to them and five other similar organisations in a tweet.

The full tweet said: “Thanks to the Scottish footballer who donated a large sum to the food banks, including us. Without the support of generous individuals we would struggle.”
