Ange Postecoglou £12m Tottenham sack theory shared as Daniel Levy braced for huge decision
Tottenham Hotspur would reputedly have to pay Ange Postecoglou around £12million if they were to relieve their head coach of his duties.
Postecoglou signed a four-year contract when joining Spurs from Celtic almost 18 months ago and is under increasing pressure with Tottenham placed 15th in the Premier League table. They are just eight points above the relegation zone and nine points away from even being in the top half.
Despite their success in the League Cup, the team has not won a league match since mid-December amid an ever-increasing injury list. As many as a dozen first-team players missed Sunday's 3-2 defeat away to Everton, with Radu Dragusin adding to those issues during the game with a head injury.

Those problems are hardly helping Postecoglou, but the coach faces calls for his job as the wretched run of results continues. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would make that decision, but it would be costly to part with Postecoglou not even halfway through his contract.
Former Aston Villa and Everton chief executive Keith Wyness explained earlier this month how much it would cost Spurs to part ways. "As I understand it, he's 18 months into a four-year deal getting paid about £5million a year," Wyness told Football Insider .
"You're looking at about £12million to get rid of him now. It's a big number, and there could also be compensation payable to any new manager.
Wyness added: "Taking everything into account, I think he's going to be given the chance to finish the season. [But] there's no doubt the pressure is building."
After the Everton defeat, Postecoglou promised to "keep fighting". He explained: "Certainly, I haven't lost belief, and I haven't lost any determination to turn it around. In the second half, the players showed they are not throwing in the towel either, so we will get our way through this."
