Ange Postecoglou admits he has made major Timo Werner transfer window decision
Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that Timo Werner will be staying at Tottenham for the remainder of this season despite links back in Germany.
The 28-year-old spent the second half of last season at Spurs on loan and then the club extended that by another season last summer with an reduced option to buy the German this coming summer for £8.5million. However, Werner's campaign has not been an impressive one so far with one goal and three assists as well as constructive criticism from Postecoglou after the draw at Rangers in the Europa League.
The Tottenham boss took off the winger at half-time and said after the game last month that the Champions League winner's performance had not been acceptable, particularly as an older head among many younger players.

Werner has been linked in the media with a return to Germany and a move to Eintracht Frankfurt but Postecoglou was clear that he cannot afford to lose anybody this month.
"Yeah [I expect him to still be here after the January window]. The last thing I want is to lose another player at the moment," he said. "The other night after Rodrigo went off, we had 11 first-team players out. We’re not letting anyone go at this point."
Postecoglou was asked how Werner had reacted to that public dressing down at Ibrox following his unconvincing display on a chilly Glasgow night.
"It was feedback, it was what I obviously felt that day. I think he’s made an impact, even at the weekend when he came on, he’s got certain attributes that can hurt any team," said the Australian. "You saw that at the weekend, he’s got a real turn of pace. We’ve needed that in games at times, particularly late in games.
"His attitude has never been a problem in terms of the way he trains, or the way he’s going about things. I felt that day, particularly with the situation we were in and him being a senior player, I thought he could have contributed more, but since then he’s made an impact as we’ve wanted to. There’s certainly never been any problems with his attitude."
