Tottenham sit in the lower half of the table going into Christmas, sparking concern about Ange Postecoglou's future - but some of football.london's Spurs fans in our comments section say that it would be foolish to rip it all up and start again with a new manager.

Ange's injury-ravaged team are the Premier League's highest scoring side so far, but have proven to be fragile in recent times, with Liverpool's 6-3 thumping underlining the point. Change and reinforcements are expected as the January transfer window arrives, with the patchwork defence in need of new blood.

Postecoglou is in danger of being part of that change if the bookies are anything to go by, being 3/1 as the next Premier League manager to be sacked. Only Julen Lopetegui of West Ham is more likely to go, according to the markets.

For some readers, it's worth staying the course through bad results, with Postecoglou offering a clear vision of what his Spurs are supposed to be. Commenter SimonBadger says: “Fans wanting Ange out are so short sighted. The attacking football is wonderful, but the defence is threadbare. Patience required, but some fans have none.”

Reader Oldspur writes: “Any other manager would've been gone by now - but maybe the penny's finally dropped with Levy that at this point he's simply got to grit his teeth and let Ange get on with it.”

ArthurNicholls says: “Building a team needs time. We have greater potential and resilience now, than the team that Ange inherited. The game against Man City showed what we can do, with both attacking and defence. The game against Liverpool was just one game too far for this injury ravaged squad.”

Marlon1 writes: “If Levy sacked Ange now, his popularity would plummet harder than an asteroid in space! And it’s already low.”

Ange's shortfalls are clear in some peoples' opinions. Christo.cy says: “Losing the game to Liverpool wasn't a surprise. But what is really frustrating is Ange's stubbornness. Ange has great responsibility for the situation we are now. He is just refusing to do any kind of rotation, refuses to bench anyone unless he needs hospital attention. His decision to start Romero and VDV with Chelsea was just ridiculous!”

Clintz3 writes: "Would sooner win 1-0 and have points on the board, than watch us get thumped, and watch so-called 'entertaining stuff'. It may be great for neutrals, but fans pay good money for tickets, and want to see their team win in whatever way possible."

Narsil says: "The height of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. This is a truism, not an opinion. Levy needs to act now to save our season, I really fear what Nuno has in store for us. If ever there was a man motivated, it’s him."
