Ange Postecoglou offers Tottenham transfer update after Radu Dragusin injury scare
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou provided an update on the latest injury amid his defensive absentee crisis.
Spurs lost for the fourth time in five Premier League games on Boxing Day, falling to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest.
The loss left Postecoglou’s side in the bottom half of the table and could have come at a further cost.
Djed Spence will miss Sunday’s clash with Wolves following the red card he received on his return to the City Ground for two bookable offences.
Radu Dragusin, meanwhile, came off towards the end of the game and was replaced by Yves Bissouma, who partnered young Archie Gray in central defence for the final few minutes of the defeat.
With Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies already out of action, Spurs are desperately short on defensive numbers as they look to improve on current form.
Asked about the Romanian international, Postecoglou said: “He was a bit sore. He hurt his ankle and said he couldn’t continue so we'll just have to wait and see.”
Pressed on the club’s plans for the January transfer window more broadly, the Australian added: “We are working hard behind the scenes, but we've got a game on Sunday and focus on that first. Then, we will look at January."
Spurs entertain Wolves in their final game of 2024 before hosting Newcastle on January 4.
