Ange Postecoglou, has openly discussed the challenges facing his team that could be exploited by Liverpool in their upcoming Premier League clash.

Postecoglou and Arne Slot will go head-to-head for the first time at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday. Spurs will be looking to capitalize on their midweek win which seen them enter the Carabao Cup semi-finals, where Spurs will also face Liverpool. The Reds will be looking for a win against Spurs to secure their place at the top of the table.

Spurs have a number of players sidelined through injury including first-choice keeper Guglielmo Vicario, Richarlison and Destiny Udogie, while Rodrigo Bentancur is serving a seven-match ban following comments he made about Son Heung-Min in the summer.

Speaking to Sky Sports, following Spurs' 4-3 victory over Manchester United, Postecoglou highlighted his selection woes. "We’ve got so many absences at the moment, centre halves, kids on the bench" says the Spurs boss. "If we get through the period we’re going to get enormous growth out of it.

"I really liked how we played tonight, obviously those moments tainted it a bit and that has happened this season before and it doesn't help our consistency, but the mentality of the boys... I love it.

"I love football land love watching teams that go out there to entertain. Obviously we want to be successful and we won’t be if we make things difficult like we did tonight."

Postecoglou added: "We’re not going out there to try and grind out 1-0 victories, we’re trying to keep folks entertained. I can’t see how that’s a bad thing.

"It’s part of football, mistakes will happen. From the context of how we play as a team, there’s nothing we need to change. It doesn’t get me any credit in the bank as an astute tactician, but so be it."

When asked if he wanted his players to cut out mistakes, the Spurs boss responded: "Of course, but you're asking for perfection in human beings and that doesn’t exist, sometimes they stuff up just like I do and you do."
