Ange raves about the power of Rangers fans as Tottenham boss confesses they force you to 'climb a mountain'

Ange Postecoglou confessed the power of the Rangers support left his Tottenham side a 'mountain to climb' at Ibrox.

The former Celtic boss watched on as his English Premier League outfit responded to an early second half strike from Hamza Igamane to claim a share of the spoils in what he's described as a very important point in the make up of their European campaign. It took a strike 15 minutes from time from substitute Dejan Kulusevski to claim a point for the North London outfit.

The build-up had all been about Ange's return to Ibrox after a two year stint as Celtic boss that included five trophies and a domestic Treble in his final campaign before heading for the riches of the EPL. He knew all about the power of the home support in Govan prior to bringing his team north as he hailed Fraser Forster - someone who has denied Rangers on numerous occasions during his career - for his huge late stop to deny Cyriel Dessers a last-gasp winner.

He told TNT Sports: "As expected in terms of the context of the game. A tough game and obviously the crowd and atmosphere you've got to deal with. Tight first half with not too many clear cut chances. They score straight after half time and we kind of know you have a mountain to climb after that crowd gets behind them. But I thought we worked our way back into the game.

"Scored a good goal and a big save by Fraser [Fraser] in the end. In terms of our European season a really important point."
