Pep Guardiola didn't need to say much to make his feelings known on two major incidents in Manchester City's draw at Crystal Palace.

City fell behind early on but were level through Erling Haaland. And despite dominating the second half, a free header from a corner allowed Palace back in front. Rico Lewis scored a lovely goal, but saw red for a second yellow card that halted City's momentum and they had to accept a point.

There were some tense full-time scenes as City felt Jeremy Doku was clear after nicking possession in his own half, but the referee blew for full-time. Pep Guardiola marched to the officials to complain about something, before heading straight for the dressing rooms and his mood hasn't improved by the time he faced the media after the game.

In a series of short, blunt answers, he simply said of Lewis' red card that 'I didn't see it', and regarding his full-time actions he replied: "Sometimes I go to the pitch, sometimes I go direct to the locker room."

Asked if his team were tired, he just replied: 'No.' But Guardiola did go on to praise City's fight, pointing to the red card as the moment their bid for a winner lost its momentum.

"How we played last 15, 16 minutes was 10 vs 11. We have seven potential starting XI injured," he explained. "A lot of players with minutes, the physicality with Crystal Palace is there. We were there and we did everything to try to win. I am really proud and pleased for the players.

"The effort from Gundogan and Bernardo was unbelievable. Both wingers were really good. We need fresh legs in that position, Jeremy [Doku] comes from a long injury and played 90 minutes. Jack [Grealish] yesterday feels niggles, discomfort and comes from long injury.

"I had the feeling at 2-2 we were there. Unfortunately we could not finish with 11."
