Anthony Gordon, Sven Botman, Nick Pope - latest Newcastle injury news and return dates
Newcastle United made it six wins from as many games on Saturday thanks to their 2-1 lunchtime win over Tottenham Hotspur.
After falling behind to a Dominic Solanke opener on four minutes, Anthony Gordon levelled the scores two minutes later under controversial circumstances. The ball looked to have hit the hand of Joelinton during the build-up but VAR deemed his arm to have been in a natural position.
Alexander Isak, the Premier League’s most in-form striker, scored for a seventh consecutive league game seven minutes from half-time to put the visitors ahead. The Magpies ultimately held out for the win but not without a few injury scares before the end.

Anthony Gordon
Injury: Nose
The goalscorer was left with a bloodied nose after a coming-together with Dejan Kulusevski which left the visitors appealing for a penalty. Medical staff attended to the winger on the pitch and Gordon was able to continue before being replaced by Harvey Barnes on 78 minutes.
Eddie Howe believes the 23-year-old has not sustained any lasting damage that will rule him out of the midweek League Cup semi-final first leg clash with Arsenal. “With Anthony I think it was just a cut but it was a nasty cut. He did well to get back on the pitch but nothing more than that,” he said.
Possible return date: Tuesday (vs Arsenal)
Sven Botman
Injury: Knee
Botman was playing his first game since March and lasted the regulation 90 minutes before being forced off in extra time. The 24-year-old had been sidelined for 10 months with a serious knee injury and there was some concern as he made his way off the field.
But Howe allayed fears, stating he too should be fine for Tuesday if called upon. “For Sven it was nothing more than cramp which is to be expected with the lack of time he's had,” said the boss.
Possible return date: Tuesday (vs Arsenal)
