Anthony Milford will not be coming to Super League after securing a deal to continue his career in Australian. The halfback, previously one of the NRL's star performers, appears to have played his final game in the top flight after securing a move to the Queensland Cup for the 2025 season.

Milford, who played for Samoa in the Test series against England, has been a free agent since being released by the Dolphins, where he had spent the last two seasons following an NRL career which has also seen him represent Canberra Raiders, Brisbane Broncos and Newcastle Knights.

The 30-year-old has regularly been linked with a move to Super League in recent years, with Leigh Leopards the club most frequently linked with a move following their search for a halfback in the past two off-seasons.

Last year they would eventually sign Matt Moylan while this year, their quest to replace the same player is still ongoing. However, it has now been confirmed it will not be Milford, who will play for Brisbane's feeder team, South Logan Magpies, next year.

"It's a full circle moment for me. Right now I believe this decision feels right for my little family and I," he said in a club statement. "I'm grateful for Wayne and the Dolphins for the past two years and I wish Woolfy and the boys nothing but the best for season 25. I'm excited to play under K and I can't wait to get to work with the team."

Milford has made 219 NRL appearances and was part of the Queensland side that won State of Origin in 2019. He has represented Samoa 14 times during his career.
