Antony's dream start to life at Real Betis continued on Saturday as he opened his account for the club against Celta Vigo.

The Brazilian joined Betis on loan in the winter transfer window and was named man of the match in his opening game for the club against Athletic Bilbao.

Betis travelled to Celta Vigo on Saturday and Antony opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the contest. The Brazilian wasn't pressed by the home defence and he picked out the bottom corner with a fine left-footed strike.

As Betis continue to benefit from the Brazilian's sudden upturn in form, Antony's goal is a timely reminder of his shocking record with United. He has now scored as many goals for Betis as he has for United this season, despite having played only 82 minutes for the club when he found the back of the net in comparison to his 14 appearances for the Reds this season. It must be noted that all but three of his outings for United in 2024/25 have come as a substitute.

Antony was one of three forwards allowed to leave United on loan in the mid-season window. Following his move to Betis, Marcus Rashford joined Aston Villa on a permanent deal and Ethan Wheatley moved to Walsall. With Jadon Sancho also out on loan at Chelsea, United now have four forwards out on temporary moves with just four forwards remaining at the club.

That quartet - Alejandro Garnacho, Amad, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee - have scored just 14 league goals between them this season.
