Antony's team-mate's true thoughts revealed amid red card drama in Man United blame claim
Antony is brimming with confidence once more thanks to his loan move to Real Betis.
The Brazilian left Manchester United last month to secure a temporary transfer to La Liga, having played a bit-part role at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim. Antony achieved just 135 minutes of Premier League action this season with just one goal to his name before he signed for the Spanish side in the January transfer window.
In what has been a torrid time in Manchester with the winger failing to show the form that convinced the United chiefs to splash out £85million on him, he's finally rediscovered his ability on the pitch, but not for his parent club.

The 24-year-old scored three goals and assisted two in his first four games for Betis, who secured two consecutive league wins this weekend for the first time since last October. He did, however, pick up a straight red in their win over Getafe on Sunday but enjoyed praise from team-mate Isco and Betis icon Gabino Rodriguez for his influence so far.
Goalscoring touch rediscovered
In what was a bright start to his United career in 2022 when he scored three goals in three games, Antony scored just nine more goals across all competitions for the club before his loan last month. A tally of 12 goals in 96 appearances spells dire reading for any attacker, let alone one that cost almost £90m.
However, he's since found himself among the goals at Betis, with three in his first five appearances and two assists on top of contributing. In just four league games, he's already equalled Rasmus Hojlund's tally for this season and is just one off Joshua Zirkzee, with both strikers having played 21 and 26 Premier League games, respectively.
Team-mates' true thoughts
Betis legend Gabino Rodriguez was given inside information on how the winger has been received by the players since his arrival last month. The 64-year-old - who spent six years at the club in two different stints - said he's been a hit in the dressing room thanks to the behaviour he's exhibited.
"I'm told Antony has been well-received in the team and didn't walk in with an air of superiority just because he came from United," he said to The Sun. "He's been quite the opposite, very humble, with a real eagerness to work. Things like that are highly valued at Betis."
Isco praise
The former Real Madrid star is another who's enjoyed a career resurgence at Betis after a 19-game stint at Sevilla following his departure from the Champions League holders. The Spaniard, 32, is one player that's enjoyed the arrival of Antony and admitted that Betis can now look to qualify for Europe if the Brazilian is on form.
"It's very easy to play with him, he's got a brutal talent," he said of the on-loan star to RTV Betis. "You have to put your talent at the service of the team. Let's see if we can take that step forward to reach Europe."
Blame pointed at United
Antony isn't the only player that's left United and gone on to prosper at other clubs with Aaron Wan-Bissaka flourishing at West Ham and Marcus Rashford showing signs of returning to his prior form at Aston Villa. According to Rodriguez, the Brazilian's struggles at Old Trafford was down to a coaching issue rather than the player himself.
"Under another one he would struggle in all aspects, and that’s what happened at United," he said. "For me, Antony’s problem wasn’t him, but a coaching one." While he said Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini is a good fit for Antony because of the attacking football he plays, he offered damning comments regarding the spirit regarding United.
"Antony just needed the type of coach who could spark him – and under Erik ten Hag and now Ruben Amorin, everything surrounding United looked like a funeral."
Red card drama
While it's been a dream start to life in Spain for the winger, he received a straight red card in Betis' win over Getafe after a dangerous lunge on Juan Iglesias in stoppage time. Despite his short time at the club, he's already become an important part of Pellegrini's side and will be missed in their clash against Real Madrid due to serving a ban.
