Argentina and Croatia clash in a huge World Cup semi-final contest in Qatar tonight.

Lionel Messi turned on the style once more in the last eight but almost saw his dream ended by a Netherlands comeback brought about by the introduction of Wout Weghorst.

Croatia, meanwhile, proved too resilient for Brazil in a dramatic quarter-final, still finding time to draw level after Neymar’s wonder goal in extra time before winning on penalties once again.

While not always the most entertaining to watch, the 2018 finalists simply cannot be ruled out. Boasting quality all over the pitch and the kind of unity many teams would envy, it could feasibly be two final appearances in a row for a golden generation many had already written off.

Argentina vs Croatia date, kick-off time and venue

Argentina vs Croatia prediction

Given how both teams have operated thus far, it’s going to be very tight.

Messi, however, could prove the difference. Croatia don’t hold too much of an attacking threat outside of penalties and the Argentina star could punish them in a game of few chances.
