Ari Muric a Celtic transfer 'target' as Burnley man latest to be considered as Joe Hart replacement

Ari Muric is the latest goalkeeping name reportedly considered by Celtic as they look to replace Joe Hart.

The 25-year-old is currently at Burnley and played second fiddle to £19million man James Trafford for most of the season before winning his place in the side for the final run-in, but was unable to prevent Vincent Kompany's men from being relegated. The Kosovan is now the latest name to be linked with the Hoops after the likes of Andriy Lunin, Alex McCarthy and Uğurcan Çakır.

The Scottish Sun report they are now looking at Muric, who signed for Burnley from Manchester City in 2022. He moved to City's academy from Grasshopper in 2015 and had a series of loans at NAC Breda, Nottingham Forest, Girona, Willem II and Adana Demirspor.

A permanent move to Turf Moor came in 2022 and Muric made 41 appearances as he helped them to the Championship title and promotion to the Premier League. But he lost his place to Trafford at the start of the campaign.

Celtic require a new number one with Hart calling time on his career. The 37-year-old announced earlier this year that he would be hanging the gloves up and will bow out after the Scottish Cup final against Rangers this weekend.

They may even swoop for more than one shotstopper as there's a chance Ben Siegrist could move on in search of game time after coming close to a transfer exit in January.
