Arnaut Danjuma drops transfer hint with classy message to Everton supporters

Arnaut Danjuma during his loan spell at Everton

Arnaut Danjuma has issued a classy farewell message to Everton fans following the end of his season-long loan spell.

Everton announced on Friday ahead of their final Premier League fixture of 2023/24 at Arsenal on Sunday that Danjuma and Jack Harrison will return to their parent clubs Villarreal and Leeds United respectively and although it was stated that the Blues will continue dialogue with the Yorkshire outfit - who face Southampton in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Sunday - over the future of the latter, there was no such addition about the Dutch international. Danjuma has now dropped a transfer hint that he will not be returning to Goodison Park as he took to Instagram to post the following statement: “To the incredible Everton fans, thank you for the unforgettable memories and unwavering support.

“It’s been an honour to wear the blue jersey. Forever in my heart, Arnaut Danjuma.”

The 27-year-old ended his message with a blue heart emoji and the hashtag COYB. Danjuma made a total of 20 appearances for Sean Dyche’s side with both of his two goals coming in the space of a week away to Doncaster Rovers on August 30 in the Carabao Cup and at Sheffield United on September 2.

Other than those two matches, he only ever completed one other game for Everton - the 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal on September 17 - and after suffering ankle ligament damage in the goalless draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage on January 30, he was never picked again with six unused appearances on the bench from April 15 onwards before being omitted for the squad at the Emirates Stadium.
