Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss Liverpool's game against Tottenham this week, Arne Slot has been confirmed. But he could be back for the weekend's trip to Plymouth or next midweek's Merseyside derby against Everton.

"He is going to miss the game tomorrow and we have to see if he is available for Sunday," Slot said. "He left the pitch with a pain in his leg. He is with the rehab coach so let's see how long it is going to take."

Liverpool is missing only Alexander-Arnold at the moment. Joe Gomez and Federico Chiesa both missed the visit to Bournemouth on Saturday but that was only because there was no room for them in the matchday squad.

"Every game we play we work on our habits, we have to do as much right as we can and every time after the session or the game, we have a meeting where we tell them what we did well and what we can improve to come as close as we can to a perfect game at the end of the season," Slot said.

"It's the same, Forest away, Brentford... we learn after every game because we are faced with different challenges. I don't think I have to prepare them different to any other game, from now on until the end of the season and as long as Liverpool exists, you need to win the game.

"Tomorrow, Sunday, Wednesday... even if we're 1-0 down we try to win this. We were quite close in the first leg until the last few seconds, down to 10 and conceded a goal. But nothing changes for this game. If you wear this shirt, if you play at Anfield; there's only one thing expected of you: to win the game."
