Arne Slot confirms Liverpool injury latest as two players to miss Nottingham Forest
Arne Slot says Liverpool only has two players missing for the trip to Nottingham Forest: Joe Gomez, who is still out with a muscle injury, and Darwin Nunez, who is suspended having picked up five yellow cards in the Premier League this season.
"Quite far," Slot said when he was asked about Gomez. "He is definitely not with the team yet and Darwin is suspended. They are the ones we’ll miss tomorrow." The Dutchman expects it still to be some time before he can pick Gomez again, with the center-back not yet near to returning to team training again.
Defender Gomez has a muscle injury from when he limped off against West Ham United a couple of weeks ago. Dominik Szoboszlai is among those who have been ill recently but the Hungarian returned over the weekend, playing 45 minutes against Accrington.

"You can judge the table best at the halfway point," Slot said when he was asked if Nottingham Forest is in a title race. "If Forest is up there with us then they definitely are a team that is in competition with us and the other teams. They deserved to be treated like this if you look at their performances and results. It will be a real challenge tomorrow.
"They showed in retrospect what a good team they are. In general, when Liverpool loses a home game, and at that moment Virgil van Dijk played 100 home games and only lost once, for me to lose on that day was hard to take. Looking back at it and where they are in the league maybe it’s not as big of a shock. They had a good game plan and brought the winger in that did so well."
