Liverpool boss Arne Slot doesn't expect Dominik Szoboszlai to be ready to start against Tottenham after the Hungary midfielder sat out the draw with Manchester United through illness.

The 24-year-old has not returned to training yet but even if he does come back today, Slot is not planning on using him from the start. Curtis Jones is likely to play as the number 10 again while Harvey Elliott is another option.

"Yesterday [Szoboszlai] wasn't in yet," Slot said. "If he's in today, I would doubt if he's available to start the game. But hopefully he's in today. Yesterday he wasn't."

Joe Gomez is the only other player set to miss out on the game with the English center-back sidelined with a hamstring injury for the next few weeks. "Almost all of them are fit," Slot said. "That is quite special at this point in the season. I will highlight they show up every three days."

Slot was giving little away in terms of the line-up he would select. Caoimhin Kelleher has played in this competition before but the Liverpool boss refused to reveal whether it would be the Irishman or Alisson Becker starting.

"I said there are many considerations you make before you make a line-up," he said. "We might play a few players that haven't played all the games and a few players that have played all the games. Today is the first time we train since United. Let's see."

Liverpool won 6-3 against Spurs in North London only a couple of weeks ago. A similar margin of victory would be a strong position to be in ahead of the second leg of the semi-final next month.
