Arne Slot discusses if Liverpool is best team in the world after Thomas Frank claim
Arne Slot isn’t ready to call his Liverpool side the best team in the world, despite Thomas Frank describing them as such.
The Brentford boss delivered his verdict after his side’s 2-0 defeat to the Reds on Saturday, which took Liverpool six points clear at the top of the Premier League. As well as leading the way domestically, Slot’s side also sits top of the Champions League’s opening phase, and is still in the running for the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
"I thought we played a really good game against the best team in the world right now," Frank told the BBC after Darwin Nunez's late brace. "We did a lot of things right. We defended very well. We gave the opportunities away but not too big.”

Frank continued: "I think we just played City and Arsenal and now Liverpool in a short amount of time. For me, they're a level above the two teams. They're complete.”
Slot though wasn’t quite prepared to go as far as Frank in his praise for his side, although the Liverpool boss did take heart from his counterpart’s comments.
"His opinion definitely means something to me,” Slot said in his press conference ahead of the Champions League clash with Lille. “He has shown at Brentford how well he's done, so many years with this club, without spending crazy amounts of money.
“Just every time, he is able to perform with his teams very good in the Premier League and make it so hard for every top five, top six team to play against them, so his opinion definitely means something to me.
"But I think it is far too early for me to say these things. We have to face a lot of teams, Champions League format this season is also difficult, can we judge the league table in the Champions League because every team faced different teams, so you can be lucky or not with the draw you have. I don't think we were lucky.
"It is always nice to get compliments from a manager who has proven to be such a good manager in the Premier League."
Liverpool.com says: Like Slot, we’ll reserve judgement for the end of the season. We certainly don’t want to jinx anything at this stage! Frank’s comments though are a major feather in the cap for Slot and his side - now it’s down to the Reds to prove him right.
