Arne Slot drops fresh hint over potential Liverpool signings in January transfer window

Arne Slot admits Liverpool remain on alert for potential incomings this month.

The Reds endured a relatively frustrating summer transfer window, having been snubbed by top target Martin Zubimendi.

They ultimately brought in Federico Chiesa from Juventus in a cut-price move, though the Italian is still building up his fitness and has hardly featured in the first-team.

Giorgi Mamardashvili will arrive from Valencia this summer too, though the squad has hardly been strengthened in the short-term since Jurgen Klopp’s departure.

Still, that has not appeared to matter this season. Slot’s side sit top of the Premier League and the Champions League tables and are strong favourites to overcome Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Much of the transfer talk surrounding Liverpool of late has been centred on potential outgoings. All of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold are out of contract at the end of the season and currently able to talk to foreign clubs over the prospect of a move this summer.

However, Slot admits the club will remain on the lookout for potential additions, albeit has stressed he is happy with his squad.

“It would be a bit weird if I told you something different than we are happy with team,” he said.

“But we always look at the market. If there's a chance this club always brings something in. Joe Gomez injury means we go from four centre-backs to three.

“I'm very happy with the team and that is trust from the club."
