Arne Slot was visibly furious as he clearly felt his Liverpool side had been hard done by when Lucas Bergvall scored the winning goal during Tottenham's win on Wednesday night.

Slot was enraged in his technical area after Bergvall opened the scoring in the closing stages, presumably because he thought the 18-year-old should no longer have been on the pitch.

Bergvall was already on a booking when he fouled Kostas Tsimikas, and the challenge was probably deserving of a second booking, but referee Stuart Attwell didn't reach for his cards, and the teenager put his side in front just minutes later.

To make matters worse, the goal was scored while Tsimikas, who had received treatment after the foul by Bergvall, was still off the pitch, with Attwell having not signalled for him to return to the field of play.

The Reds were therefore outnumbered as Dominic Solanke held off Ibrahima Konate before squaring the ball for Bergvall to slot home at Alisson's near post.

Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff remonstrated with the fourth official, and Hulshoff was shown a yellow card for his troubles.

Liverpool's head coach had calmed down by the time the match finished, and shook hands with Attwell and his two assistants after entering the pitch at full-time.

Virgil van Dijk, meanwhile, was clearly not happy as he had words with Bergvall after the match before also venting his frustration to Attwell.
