Arne Slot tells Liverpool supporters when to expect announcement amid update on Anfield move
Arne Slot has suggested it will only be a 'matter of days' before he is confirmed as Liverpool's new boss. Slot is set to take over from Jürgen Klopp at Anfield, as the German prepares to bid farewell at the end of the season.
Both Liverpool and Feyenoord have two games remaining and it was expected that an announcement would come after the final games of the campaign. BBC Sport reported last month that the two clubs had reached an agreement over a compensation package for Slot.
The Dutchman has made no secret of his desire to take over at Anfield and remains confident that the deal will go through in the near future. Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Feyenoord's clash with NEC on Sunday, Slot said (per 1908.NL): "I say almost every time: it will be a matter of days. I expect the same now.

"Things like this take a bit more than going to the shop with a shopping list and ticking off the groceries. These are things that have to be timed properly and everything has to be worked out.
"There are sometimes some things attached to that as well. So that combination of factors means it hasn’t been communicated yet. But don’t worry, that will undoubtedly happen.”
Slot is set to assume the title of head coach at Anfield and he insists his focus remains on Feyenoord's final two matches, with his representatives putting the final touches on his move to Liverpool. He added: "I am not someone who looks very far ahead.
"In a week and a half from now, it could be that I won't be here anymore. That feeling may increase a bit next week because it could just be the last week then."
Feyenoord has already secured second spot in the Eredivisie after another impressive campaign under Slot. He is set to bid farewell on the final day of the season, when his side hosts Excelsior.
Liverpool.com says: Slot isn't worried about the deal getting done and nor should Liverpool fans be. It will only be a matter of time before he is appointed but he and Klopp will be eager to get the season done first. Then focus can turn to next season and the transfer window before that, with Liverpool likely to seek improvements to challenge for the Premier League title again next season.
