Arne Slot tipped to do what Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola couldn't in first Liverpool season
Dietmar Hamann has suggested Liverpool could win the quadruple this season - although he has warned the ongoing contracts saga at Anfield could derail their bid.
The Reds are still in the hunt for all four trophies this season, and are well set to be crowned Premier League champions. They hold a six-point lead over Arsenal with less than half of the campaign left, and still hold a game in hand on their rivals.
Liverpool is also well placed in the Champions League, with a spot in the last-16 all but secure ahead of the penultimate league phase fixture against Lille this evening. They’re also in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, although will have to overcome a 1-0 deficit in the second leg against Tottenham, while a fourth round tie against Championship side Plymouth Argyle awaits in the FA Cup next month.

It is of course a huge ask for the Reds to win all four trophies this season - a feat not even Jurgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola have achieved. Klopp came close with Liverpool in the 2021/22 season, only to fall a point short in the Premier League and suffer defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final, while Guardiola won a treble with Manchester City in 2022/23.
Hamann though feels it is possible for Arne Slot to achieve the quadruple in his first season at Anfield, telling BestOffShoreSportsbooks.org: “Liverpool fans should be dreaming of winning the treble, but the players won’t be.
“They have a chance to overturn a deficit in the League Cup and are top in the Premier League and the Champions League, but we’ve seen how hard it is to win four trophies after Manchester City came up short.
“Things change very quickly in football and you need your key players fit in March and April when the business end of the season comes along. Are Liverpool capable of winning the quadruple? Yes they are. But anything can happen and they certainly shouldn’t be too disappointed if they only win one or two trophies.”
Hamann though feels that the ongoing drama around Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah’s futures could derail Liverpool’s hopes of silverware. All three players are set to see their contracts expire in the summer, with speculation growing over their exits recently.
“Liverpool's contract confusion could be the biggest barrier to them winning a treble, but the hope is that the players focus on what is important,” Hamann added.
“Some players cannot do that and some can, the three players all seem to be doing exceptionally at the moment to not let it impact them.
“Liverpool do things differently and have been successful over the past 10 years, they have been successful on and off the pitch and if these players do leave them Liverpool will be okay.”
