New arrivals would be a breath of fresh air, admits Hull City star as Tigers seek transfer deals
Alfie Jones says new signings would provide a breath of fresh air at Hull City and give a welcome boost to the Tigers dressing room over the next few weeks.
City expect to be busy before the end of window on February 3 with Acun Ilicali and his recruitment team trying to boost Ruben Selles' squad as they face a big fight against the drop from the Championship, a quest which was boosted with a battling point against Leeds United on Saturday, having been 3-1 down.
The Tigers signed a host of players in the summer with mixed success, but Selles has seen his squad ravaged by injury with no fewer than six of their close-season arrivals now unavailable including Liam Millar and Mohamed Belloumi, while Oscar Zambrano is banned.

Bringing in new faces is important, but as important are ones that are capable of hitting the ground running and being capable of providing an instant impact, Jones says.
"Yes, definitely; obviously, it needs to be (players who can hit the ground running)," Jones told Hull Live. "It's hard, but all-in players that can come in and do that have an impact in the dressing room and on the pitch. We're not in a great position now, so we need players that can come in and do that."
Jones admits sometimes a fresh outlook on things can also be a benefit, and while Selles has had a positive impact since taking over last month, extra quality on the pitch is paramount.
"I definitely think it's like a breath of fresh air (new arrivals). They don't know the situation that we're in, so they come in with sort of open eyes and attack it straight away, so maybe it could be a good thing."
