Arsenal will be unable to facilitate a move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer.

The 25-year-old Sweden international has been touted with a potential move to the Emirates in 2025 should the Magpies fail to qualify for Europe.

Mail Sport has today confirmed that Isak would be out of Arsenal's price range and that it would take a 'British record fee' for him to make the switch to London.

Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey and Oleksandr Zinchenko are three players who have been touted for exits this year, as the Gunners look to raise vital funds for a new centre forward.

Isak’s camp are thought to be aware of Arsenal’s interest but the former Real Sociedad man is more than happy at St. James' Park.

That leads Arsenal a little cold in terms of their ongoing striker search, with Kai Havertz simply not an out-and-out goalscorer manager Mikel Arteta can rely on.

Here, football.london looks at two ready-made alternatives Arsenal could look to sign in the summer months...

Benjamin Sesko

A player who is known to be on Arsenal's radar is RB Leipzig man Benjamin Sesko. The talented Slovenian has 11 goals to his name this term and would likely cost the Gunners in the region of £55m.

Leipzig have been happy to sell their stars for top fees in the past with Timo Werner moving to Chelsea for £40m in 2020. We can see Arsenal exploring a move for Sesko in the summer, should they raise vital funds with player sales.

Another name on Arsenal's extensive shortlist is talented Brazilian Matheus Cunha. The 25-year-old is still weighing up whether or not to extend his deal at Molineux and we can see him moving onto pastures new in 2025.

The forward would likely command a fee of £50m and Wolves would be silly to refute a transfer fee in that region. Cunha has 10 goals in 20 Premier League appearances in 2024/25 and we think he would be a tailor-made fit at the Emirates, given his top-level experience.
