Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have the opportunity to sign Stuttgart's star striker Serhou Guirassy from the Bundesliga for a mere £15million this summer thanks to a release clause in his contract. The 28 year old has had an impressive run in Germany, outperforming ex-Tottenham Horspur ace Harry Kane at the beginning of the season by breaking a Robert Lewandowski goalscoring record.

Guirassy made the move from Rennes to Stuttgart initially on loan two years ago, before making the switch permanent last summer. The decision proved fruitful as Guirassy netted a record-breaking 14 goals in his first eight Bundesliga matches of the 2023/24 season.

Lewandowki, known for his goal-scoring prowess, previously scored 12 goals in the first eight league games of the 2019/20 season with Bayern Munich. In contrast, Harry Kane only managed to score nine times in his first eight Bundesliga appearances after his transfer from Tottenham to the Allianz Arena last summer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Guirassy's release clause will be active this summer, with Premier League clubs already expressing interest. Bidding for the Guinea international is expected to kick off in July.

Guirassy, despite not scoring at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, ended the Bundesliga season with an impressive 28 goals in as many appearances, although he was still eight behind Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot. His goal-scoring prowess helped Stuttgart secure a second-place finish, just behind champions Bayer Leverkusen and ahead of Munich in third, reports the Express.

Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund are keen to outmanoeuvre English clubs for Guirassy's signature, making him a top target for the upcoming transfer window. However, Stuttgart's chairman Alexander Wehrle has told the broadcaster that Guirassy is content at his current club.

"It was already clear last summer that he was leaving, and I already heard in the winter where he is said to have already signed," Wehrle commented. "The fact is, he feels really comfortable. He is an undisputed leader for the first time in his career, he knows what he has in [Stuttgart manager] Sebastian Hoeness and the coaching team."

"He can now also play [in] the Champions League. That's another argument. For many it is clear that he is leaving, for me it is not at all clear. But we will sit down after the season."
