Both Arsenal and Chelsea find themselves looking at forward players with Victor Osimhen at the top of their wishlist.

The Gunners are needing a striker more than most having found a prolific No.9 to be elusive in their squad. The Blues meanwhile have been heavily linked with a move for Osimhen since the summer.

That transfer fell through on deadline day in the summer which left Osimhen in an uncomfortable position. He would eventually agree to join Galatasaray on loan from Napoli but an option was included for ten unnamed clubs to be allowed to sign him if they were to come knocking in January.

However, since joining the Turkish club, Osimhen has grown a strong bond and would be unlikely to want to leave the club midway through the season if it left them in the lurch. Thankfully, if either Arsenal or Chelsea were to push ahead with the deal, that would not be the case.

What often stops deals from being conducted late on deadline day is that teams losing players will struggle to find a replacement. However, the Turkish transfer window still has another week left to go and, as such, Galatasaray have plenty of time to complete a deal to replace Osimhen if they were to lose him.

This should give Osimhen that reassurance he would not be scuppering Galatasaray if he was to leave. Unfortunately, with little time remaining before the 11pm deadline, Arsenal and Chelsea would struggle to get that deal done and as such, they may have to wait until the summer to revisit a move for the Nigerian striker.
