Mikel Arteta issues Bukayo Saka injury update after Arsenal scare vs Man United

Bukayo Saka during Manchester United vs Arsenal

Bukayo Saka was forced off with a potential injury late into Arsenal's Premier League clash against Manchester United.

The England international had endured a quiet game at Old Trafford and he was substituted late on with the Gunners 1-0 in front with a possible injury being suffered. In a challenge with Sofyan Amrabat, Saka went over awkwardly, colliding with the advertising hoardings which appeared to leave him in some pain.

After receiving treatment on the side of the pitch, Saka went down again moments later with Mikel Arteta making the decision to bring him off for Gabriel Jesus.

Saka entered the game as a minor injury doubt after being spotted with heavy strapping on his leg in training, however he was named in the starting XI. The final clash of the season against Everton arrives in exactly a week with Arteta sure to be hopeful Saka can feature as the title will be on the line.

Injury problems have been rare for Arsenal in recent weeks with Jurrien Timber still absent from the matchday squad despite travelling to Manchester.

However, that may change following Saka's latest muscular concern with his fitness likely to be monitored throughout the week. While that will still happen, Arteta was on hand to deliver a positive update after the game. "I think he's going to be fine," Arteta admitted in his post-match press conference.
