Arsenal explain to Aaron Ramsey why his contract offer was taken off the table
Arsenal have finally informed Aaron Ramsey in person that he will not be offered a new deal at The Emirates.
Ramsey’s contract runs out at the end of the season, but a deal to keep him at the club was taken off the table in September.
Speaking to the media last week, Ramsey explained that nobody from the club had told him why and he had only been informed via his agent that his ten-year Arsenal career looked set to end.

After those comments, Arsenal finally explained to the Welshman why he would not be offered a new deal at the weekend – a decision that the Mail say was in line with the Gunners’ long-term interests over financial health.
Although Ramsey could leave in January, it seems increasingly likely that his departure will come at the end of the season, something both Arsenal and Ramsey are happy with.
Ramsey’s departure will mark the end of an Era for Arsenal. He signed from Cardiff in 2008 and has made 343 appearances for the club.
Although the final years of Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal tenure were not as successful as the early ones, Ramsey was part of three FA Cup winning sides and scored the winner in the final twice.
Given his quality, Ramsey has plenty of suitors already eyeing up a move for the 27-year-old.
In the Premier League, Manchester United and Chelsea have been tipped with an interest, while European giants Juventus and Bayern Munich also have the midfielder on their radar.
