Who Arsenal will face in the Champions League round of 16 knockout stage
Arsenal's first opponents in the Champions League knockout stages are closer to being revealed after the first round of play-off fixtures reached their conclusion on Tuesday night.
This season, the Champions League had its biggest overhaul since the name change from the European Cup. The original group phases of the competition were scrapped in favour of a 36-team league system.
Competing clubs played two opponents from each of the four pots ensuring that sides had eight unique fixtures. After all eight fixtures were completed for each side, the top eight qualified automatically for the round of 16.

Those finishing between ninth and 24th entered the play-offs while those 25th and below were knocked out of the Champions League entirely. Each team that finished inside the top eight was paired up with four potential opponents from the round of 16 dependant on their league stage finish.
Having finished third, Arsenal were paired up with Feyenoord, AC Milan, PSV Eindhoven and Juventus. After Tuesday night's play-offs, the Gunners know they will not be facing Milan after they were surprisingly knocked out on aggregate by Feyenoord.
The Dutch side held 1-0 advantage heading into the second leg and while Santiago Gimenez levelled the tie early for the Italians, Julian Carranza's equaliser when the hosts were down to ten men sealed the contest. Tonight will see whether Juventus or PSV will be joining Feyenoord as a potential opponent for Arsenal.
Juve hold a 2-1 lead after the home leg in Turin with Samuel Mbangula the hero for them having scored in the 82nd minute to win the match or the night. Arsenal will find out whether or not they will be facing Feyenoord or Juventus/PSV Eindhoven in the round of 16 on Friday when the Champions League draw for the remainder of the competition is made.
Whichever side does not face Arsenal in the round of 16 will come up against Inter Milan instead.
