Arsenal given four-man transfer instruction as Edu plans squad overhaul to compete with Man City

Edu has been given a four-man transfer wishlist to bolster Mikel Arteta's Arsenal for dominance, with calls to bring in Victor Osimhen or Ollie Watkins and Crystal Palace duo Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze this summer.

The Gunners are currently riding high, leading the Premier League title race by a slender one-point margin over Manchester City. With the season nearing its climax and Arsenal still having four crucial matches left, ex-Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre is already casting his gaze towards the summer transfer window, advocating for a sharpshooter up front and additional firepower on the wings.

In a chat with bettingexpert.com, Silvestre expressed his views: "Osimhen and Watkins (are the 30-40 goals a season strikers). I think you have to look at the services the other players at Arsenal can provide. A good quality striker is going to create chances by himself but he will get the service at Arsenal."

He added: "Yeah I'd say Osimhen and Watkins are the attackers that can score 30-40 goals a season at Arsenal. Both Olise and Eze are quality players and I don't think one is a better fit for Arsenal than the other."

Silvestre also praised the Palace stars. "I think they can play for a lot of teams in the league. They have the X-factor for Crystal Palace, they create chances, they are unpredictable and they score goals. I'm sure there will be a lot of suitors for them and not just Arsenal," he said as reported in the Mirror.

All four players are currently enjoying successful seasons with their respective clubs. Watkins, 28, has been in fine form for Aston Villa this season, netting 26 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions.

However, securing his services could prove challenging as he only penned a new deal with the Midlands club in October. Osimhen may not have matched his goal tally from Napoli's title-winning campaign last season, but he's still managed to find the back of the net 15 times this term. To put that into perspective, Gabriel Jesus is Arsenal's top-scoring striker with just eight goals.

Meanwhile, Olise and Eze would offer quality options outwide. Despite an injury-plagued season, 22-year-old Olise has scored seven goals and set up four more.

Eze continues to impress at Selhurst Park, contributing eight goals and five assists this season. Both wingers are tied down at Palace until the summer of 2027.

The duo could further boost their impressive stats as Crystal Palace's season draws to a close. Oliver Glasner's side have four matches left to play - the first of which is against Fulham at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.
