Arsenal handed major Benjamin Sesko transfer boost as RB Leipzig stance emerges
Arsenal have learned of an update regarding the future of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko amid recent transfer speculation.
The Gunners were heavily linked with signing a new centre forward during the January transfer window, but did not make any new additions to their squad. The rumours intensified after the season-ending injury to Gabriel Jesus, while Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are also on the sidelines recovering from hamstring injuries.
There were rumours in January that Arsenal were considering an offer to sign Sesko on loan until the end of the season amid their lack of striker options. However, football.london understands these reports were wide of the mark, although the Gunners do have a genuine interest in the Slovenia international.

Now a fresh update has emerged about Sesko's future, which will hand a major boost to Arsenal. Fabrizio Romano has reported that there is an "understanding" between Sesko and Leipzig that the striker will have an opportunity to join a new club in the summer.
Arsenal are not the only club mentioned in the report, though, with Chelsea also apparently in the running to sign Sesko. It has been claimed, though, that the Gunners will be in the mix to try and sign Sesko in the summer, thanks to a change in stance from Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff.
Sesko has been in fine form for Leipzig this season, scoring 15 goals with four assists in 30 appearances in all competitions. The striker may not be the only player whose future with the Bundesliga club generates speculation in the months ahead.
Xavi Simons has also been linked with a big-money move away from Leipzig in the summer after only signing for the German outfit on a permanent deal from Paris Saint-Germain last month. It remains to be seen if Leipzig would be willing to allow two of their star forwards to leave the club in one transfer window.
Sesko's agent, Elvis Basanovic, was quizzed on Sesko potentiall moving to Arsenal in January and said: "I think you should ask Mr. Arteta about that.
"But I think Sesko could suit many clubs because he has different football skills. "He can play alone in attack, with two strikers, a little further back, he has height, speed, technical speed."
Arsenal have also been linked with moves for Ollie Watkins and Alexander Isak, of Aston Villa and Newcastle United respectively.
