Arsenal star Bukayo Saka's hamstring injury could see him miss nearly four months of action, according to football injury analyst Physio Scout.

Saka was forced off in last week's 5-1 win over Crystal Palace before leaving south London on crutches. The severity of the injury was confirmed by Mikel Arteta before the win over Ipswich Town before the Gunners boss provided an update on the winger.

"He had a procedure," Arteta said. "Everything went well, but unfortunately he will be out for many, many weeks."

"I think it will be more than two months," he said when pressed on a timeframe. "I don’t know exactly how much longer. It will depend on how the scar tissue starts to heal, the first week or so, the mobility of that. Let’s see, it’s very difficult to say."

Saka's absence is set to be a huge miss for Arsenal. The England international has scored nine goals and created a further 13 this season after 34 goal contributions last term.

Unfortunately for the Gunners, things could go from bad to worse regarding Saka's recovery. According to injury analyst, Physio Scout on X, Saka could be unavailable for four months.

Writing on the social platform, the page dedicated to Premier League injuries wrote: "Bukayo Saka has had surgery on his hamstring, and will be out for an extended period of time. Typically we see a recovery time of 3-5 months after hamstring surgery depending on the location, type & size of the tear.

"Based off what I’ve seen, Saka should be out for around 3.5-4 months. Upper hamstring surgeries are usually more frequently seen, but the injured site was the lower hamstring here. Wishing him the best in recovery. Will provide you [with] any updates if they come."
