Arsenal handed three Champions League advantages that could help in knockout stages
Arsenal could be about to receive a triple Champions League advantage thanks to their recent result.
Wednesday night saw the Gunners claim a 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb at the Emirates Stadium. Declan Rice opened the scoring before goals from Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard ensured a comfortable victory for Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta's side now have 16 points from their first seven league phase fixtures in the Champions League and have one more game left to play. Next week will see Arsenal travel to face Girona, who themselves cannot qualify for the next round.

A point against the La Liga club would be enough to guarantee Arsenal a finish in the top eight. Doing this would hand the Gunners at least a double boost in the Champions League.
By finishing in the top eight, Arsenal would skip the play-off round which takes place next month. It would also mean that Arteta and Co. would be able to look forward to a last-16 tie in March as they wait to discover their opponents.
Arsenal would be handed another boost by being seeded in the last-16 draw if they were to finish in the top eight of the league stage. This would, in theory at least, see the Gunners be handed a more favourable tie in the next round when they return to European action.
There is also the possibility of Arsenal being handed a third boost in the Champions League. Teams that finish in the top two spots in the league phase are guaranteed to have a home leg in the last-16 tie that takes place later in the season, and also cannot face the other top-two team until the final.
Arsenal have an outside chance of finishing in the top two, but will have to rely on results elsewhere to climb the table. Liverpool are currently top and the only club guaranteed to finish in the top two, with a five-point lead over the Gunners in third.
Barcelona are second on 18 points, two ahead of Arsenal, and will face Atalanta in their final match next week. If the Gunners beat Girona and Barca lose to Atalanta, a second-place finish would be secure for Arteta's team. It's also possible that Arsenal could finish second if Barcelona draw and the Gunners win by a four-goal margin.
