Arsenal's hunt for a new attacker is gathering pace before the January transfer window has opened with reports linking them with highly-rated Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush.

Marmoush, 25, is one of Europe's most prolific attackers currently with his performances in Germany. After joining Frankfurt in 2023, the Egypt international has scored 35 goals in 65 appearances across two seasons.

Halfway through the 2024/25 season, Marmoush has already surpassed his goal and assist record from last season. He has bagged 18 times in all competitions this season - including 13 in 15 Bundesliga games - and provided a further 12 assists.

He's contracted in Frankfurt until 2027 but reports have indicated he hasn't responded positively to recent negotiations over a new contract. That has left many of Europe's top teams showing interest ahead of the January transfer window and Arsenal are reportedly in pole position.

CaughtOffside have claimed the Gunners are currently ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to sign Marmoush. The report states that contact has been made regarding the forward's availability with other clubs monitoring the situation.

The Daily Mail have also linked Manchester City with the Egypt international amid their crisis this season. It's understood that he will cost a minimum of £35million - a similar fee that Arsenal paid for Riccardo Calafiori in the summer.

Marmoush predominately plays at centre-forward in Germany but offers the versatility to play out wide or behind the striker. Following Bukayo Saka's injury, he could be the perfect replacement to keep Arsenal's Premier League and Champions League dreams alive.
