Premier League title challengers Arsenal have been confirmed to have an interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers star man Matheus Cunha after the Brazilian's exceptional first half of the season.

Cunha has been the standout performer during Wolves' early struggles, scoring 10 goals and picking up four assists in the Premier League this season. The Old Gold most recently beat Manchester United 2-0 to secure back-to-back wins in new manager Vítor Pereira's first couple of games with the Portuguese boss yet to concede a goal in charge of Wolves.

Ending the win over United as captain, Cunha has been a beacon of hope for the Black Country club this campaign who clawed themselves out of the relegation zone with the Boxing Day victory. The 25-year-old has put in numerous talismanic performances, often dragging his team to points with his goal contributions.

According to The Telegraph, Arsenal hold an interest in Cunha's services after keeping tabs on his form over the past three seasons. Due to his current form and the injuries to forwards Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling, the Gunners are keen on the Brazil international but would reportedly face a tough task in prising him away from Molineux in the upcoming transfer window.

Cunha arrived in the West Midlands back in January 2023 on loan before Wolves made his stay permanent in the summer of that year for £44 million. The former Atlético Madrid attacker has bagged 26 goals and 13 assists in his 75 games for the club and has proved crucial in their fight against relegation this season.

Subsequently, the powers that will at Wolves will be extremely reluctant to let go of their prized asset as they brace themselves for bids over the coming transfer windows.

CaughtOffside recently reported that there was more interest in Cunha from both England and across the continent with Manchester United another of the teams leading in their interest. Amongst others from the Premier League are Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Aston Villa, with European attention coming in the forms of Italian giants AC Milan and Napoli.

With two more years still left on his contract, the former RB Leipzig player will be able to attract a decent amount of profit should Wolves accept any bids in the upcoming windows.
