Mikel Arteta provided an update on the fitness of both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli after Arsenal’s huge win over Sheffield United.

The Gunners continued their relentless run of form on Monday night, romping to 6-0 victory over the Premier League’s bottom side at Bramall Lane.

Martin Odegaard kicked things off with a goal within the opening five minutes, at which point Arteta’s side could have been 3-0 up.

A Jayden Bogle own goal and strikes from Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Declan Rice had the visitors 5-0 up at the break before Ben White lashed in the second-half’s only goal.

The only negatives of the evening, however, came in Arsenal’s frontline.

Saka was replaced by Fabio Vieira at the break before Martinelli was forced off just after the hour mark.

Still, Arteta moved to play down any serious injury concerns after the game.

“Bukayo was feeling sick,” he told Sky Sports.

“He wasn’t feeling right so we decided to take him off and bring Fabio [Vieira] in.”

Of Martinelli, Arteta added: “With Gabi, it’s just a cut. He had a tackle and a slight cut, we have to see how he is.”
