Arsenal player ratings vs Bayern Munich: Bukayo Saka quiet with Declan Rice unable to influence match
Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage after losing to Bayern Munich.
Right-back Joshua Kimmich scored the only goal of the game, heading home at the back-post midway through the second-half.
The Gunners had battled well until that point and Gabriel Martinelli missed a good chance around the half-hour mark.
Bayern’s 1-0 win means they progressed to the semi-finals 3-2 on aggregate and Arsenal must dust themselves down to focus on the title race.

David Raya 6
Made a good save in the first-half to keep out Jamal Musiala. Positioning a bit suspect when Gabriel’s back-pass went past him and just wide.
Ben White 6
Will be disappointed he did not stop the cross coming in for Bayern’s goal. Other than that, he had a solid night.
William Saliba 7
The better of Arsenal’s two centre-backs. Looked at ease playing at this level and one of Arsenal’s better players.
Gabriel 6
Dealt well with Harry Kane, who didn’t really have a sniff. Almost scored a bizarre own-goal when attempting a back-pass.
Takehiro Tomiyasu 7
Made his first start for Arsenal since the start of December. Put in a solid performance and largely kept Leroy Sane quiet.
Martin Odegaard 6
The odd bright moment but not as threatening as he can be. Pressed like mad from the front, though.
Jorginho 7
Had a good game in the middle of the park, especially in the first-half. Passing helped get Arsenal up the pitch and was a cool head.
Excellent in so many big games since joining Arsenal, but he was quiet tonight. Didn't influence the game as he usually does.
A quiet performance from a player who has lit up the Champions League in his debut season. Perhaps not fully fit?
Kai Havertz 5
Restored to the centre-forward position, which is where he has looked best in an Arsenal shirt. Fed off scraps tonight, though.
Gabriel Martinelli 5
Put in a shift defensively to help Tomiyasu deal with Sane. Missed a great chance in the first-half from a cut-back. Had to do better.
Substitutions
Gabriel Jesus (Jorginho 67’) 5
On to play upfront but only had one chance and was offside.
Leandro Trossard (Martinelli 68’) 5
The hero a week ago but couldn't make an impact this time.
Eddie Nketiah (Tomiyasu 86’) N/A
Subs not used: Ramsdale, Hein, Zinchenko, Kiwior, Elneny, Partey, Vieira, Smith Rowe, Smith Rowe
