Arsenal player ratings vs Tottenham as Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka star in nervy derby win

David Raya: An absolute howler to let Spurs back into a game they were totally out of. What was he thinking? Decent aside from that, but an uncharacteristic brain fart from the usually consistent Spaniard. 5.

Ben White: His consistency is almost becoming too consistent to write about. We start these ratings at a base of six but it may as well be a seven for White. Understatedly impressive yet again. 7.

Gabriel: Good in the parts of the first half where Arsenal had to sit deep and defend. Decent on the ball in the second when they got forward more. Showed how complete he is as a centre half. 7.

William Saliba: Didn't help Raya with the bouncy ball back, but can hardly be blamed for the subsequent mistake. Decent aside from that and superb as Arsenal held on at the end. 7.

Takehiro Tomiyasu: A little sloppy on the ball in some of the early exchanges, but improved a lot as the game went on. So solid in his one-vs-one duels, but not always the best on the ball. 6.

Thomas Partey: Some superb moments like the turn to get clear of James Maddison in the first half. Then a few sloppy concessions of possession though. 6.

Martin Odegaard: Not in the game that much in the early periods, but showed moments of quality in limited spells on the ball to go with his top work rate off it. More influential in the second half. 6.

Declan Rice: Didn't get forward as much as he did the other night in the left eight position. This was more of a defensive assignment. Performed it well for the most part though. The challenge for the penalty was tired and poor, though. 6.

Bukayo Saka: Yet another couple of goal contributions in the North London Derby. Saka loves these games. As Arsenal picked Spurs off on the counter he was key. 8.

Kai Havertz: A really good centre forward's display for the German. The pass to Saka for his goal was sublime and the movement for his header was too. 8.

Leandro Trossard: A quiet day for the Belgian. Caught on the ball on a few occasions when playing out in the first half, but pretty good off the ball when required. 6.

SUBSTITUTES -

Gabriel Martinelli: Another less than stellar display off the bench from the Brazilian who looks low on confidence right now. Didn't look up in the key moments and never looked like beating van de Ven. Very good off the ball late on though. 6.

Jakub Kiwior: Came on too late for a rating. n/a.
