Arsenal receive Myles Lewis-Skelly referee red card appeal verdict after 'major' Michael Oliver error
Following Myles Lewis-Skelly's red card vs Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett is the latest ex-official to back Arsenal to make a successful appeal.
Lewis-Skelly, 18, was dismissed in the 43rd minute of the Premier League clash with the score goalless at the time.
Referee Michael Oliver pulled out the red card to the surprise of many after the Arsenal full-back stopped Matt Doherty starting a counter-attack from the edge of his own penalty area.

Video assistant referee Darren England, aided by Adrian Holmes, the assistant VAR, checked and confirmed the decision, deeming the challenge serious foul play.
Ricardo Calafiori's goal once the hosts had also been reduced to 10 men may have secured three points, though Mikel Arteta's fury was still ripe.
"I’m absolutely fuming. But I’ll leave it with you because it’s that obvious that I don’t think my words are going to help," he said in the aftermath.
Now, speaking to Football Insider, Hackett has backed the Gunners to have the red card successfully overturned. "It was a very poor red card. It was a reckless challenge worthy of a yellow. He should appeal," the 80-year-old ruled.
This follows Mike Dean's own stance on the matter. Another former Premier League official, he similarly backed the lodging of an official appeal.
"I think they've got grounds for appealing," Dean had told Sky Sports. "It's just whether when the panel sits and reviews it - ex-managers and ex-players - which way will they go?
"I would think if they appeal, the way managers and players look at it, none of the players will think it's a red card, so I think they may well win the appeal."
As things stand, Lewis-Skelly will miss the club's next three domestic fixtures. The first is the huge Emirates Stadium clash with Manchester City next weekend.
Afterwards, Arsenal travel to the north east for the League Cup semi-final second leg vs Newcastle United. Finally, Lewis-Skelly would miss a second Premier League fixture away at Leicester City.
