Arsenal set for significant transfer windfall as striker agrees January move
Arsenal could be set for a financial boost this January with former striker Mika Biereth agreeing personal terms with AS Monaco ahead of a proposed move.
The 21-year-old left the Gunners in the summer to permanently join Austrian Bundesliga side Sturm Graz in a deal worth £4million. football.london understands that a significant sell-on clause was included in the deal, which the Gunners now look set to benefit from.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is reporting that AS Monaco have agreed personal terms with Biereth, with the young striker keen on the move to France. Talks are now under way between Monaco and Sturm Graz.

Biereth originally joined Arsenal's academy in 2021 after leaving Fulham and scored 12 goals for the Gunners youth sides in 26 appearances. He enjoyed a successful loan spell with Motherwell in the first half of the 2023/24 season before joining Sturm Graz on loan in January 2024, where the Dane netted nine goals in 22 appearances, helping the Austrian side to a league and cup double.
Biereth has continued his fine form this season, contributing to 19 goals in 25 appearances. It now appears that his time in Austria could be up, however, with a move to AS Monaco edging closer.
Any potential switch will see Biereth join up with former Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun, who moved to the Ligue 1 side in August 2023. The 23-year-old is currently out with a shoulder injury, however, which is perhaps why the French giants have made the move for Biereth.
