Manchester United have made contact to Arsenal for 18-year-old sensation Ayden Heaven - a matter of months after signing teammate Chido Obi-Martin.

Heaven is considered as one of the brightest prospect in the Gunners academy right now. He was part of Mikel Arteta's squad for their pre-season tour in the United States but didn't make his competitive first-team debut until October. The defender came on for the final 10 minutes against Preston in the Carabao Cup.

He has not featured since in a senior fixture and has been used for the Under 21s in Premier League 2. And with Heaven's contract running out in the summer, there is interested in the talented centre-back.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United are keen on signing Heaven and have 'made contact' with Arsenal. It's added that Ruben Amorim's men are leading the race, while Eintracht Frankfurt and Barcelona have made approaches. The Gunners, meanwhile, have offered Heaven a new deal to stay at the Emirates.

If Heaven made the move to Manchester, he would be the second player to make the direct switch in less than six months after Obi-Martin arrived at United in September. The 17-year-old former Arsenal hotshot scored a hat-trick on his first start for United Under 18s against Nottingham Forest.

Reports have emerged this week that United boss Amorim is looking at the academy and Obi-Martin, in particular, to come in and help his misfiring side. Obi-Martin has nine goals in eight matches this season.

As for Heaven, Arteta was asked about his future ahead of his side's trip to Wolves on Saturday. The Arsenal boss said: "You know I cannot talk about anything that is individual and this is not my duty."

The Gunners make the trip to Molineux looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League and ramp up the pressure on Liverpool at the top. Arteta's side were held to a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa last time out in the top-flight and sit six points behind Arne Slot's leaders having played a game more.
