Arsenal target Ivan Toney discusses next move in fresh hint over Brentford exit
Ivan Toney has again spoken about leaving Brentford, hinting at a desire to move abroad.
The striker is not shy about discussing his future in January, on the eve of his return after serving an eight-month ban for betting rule breaches, suggested he could leave the Bees that month.
He told Sky Sports: "You can never predict when is the right time to move elsewhere, but I think it's obvious I want to play for a top club.
"Everybody wants to play for a top club, that is fighting for titles. Whether it's this January that is the right time for a club to come in and pay the right money, who knows?"
The transfer window shut with Toney staying put, but Brentford manager Thomas Frank told Danish media soon after that is is "relatively obvious" that the striker "will probably be sold this summer" after receiving "no offers" in January.
The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with interest, though both clubs are reportedly more keen on other targets as the Bees have slipped an £80million price on Toney's head.
Frank continued: "We also know what he is worth. I don’t think there are many strikers in the world who are better than him right now."
Toney did not take kindly to his manager's remarks last month, telling reporters he thought the comments suggested "that as he doesn't want me." He added: "The manager has said what he's said but I can't make clubs come and get me."
The topic of Toney's future remains untouched and speaking to Sky Sports on Saturday about his “dream” end to the season, Toney suggested all parties would be happy with an exit and even joked about moving to LaLiga.
He said: "If Brentford was to sell me, they make their money, I move to Madrid and it's all good!"
