Will Arsenal make a signing before the January transfer window closes? There are just nine days left for clubs to do business before the winter window shuts on Monday, February 3.

As yet the Gunners have not made a single signing, although there are a number of irons in the fire, if you believe the rumour mill. The Gunners could see some players leave too, with Kieran Tierney linked with a move back to Celtic.

Links with Benjamin Sesko refuse to go away, while there are plenty of other names linked too, including one the Gunners will come up against this weekend and that we will talk about shortly.

Here we take a look at the big headlines doing the rounds when it comes to Arsenal Football Club.

Green light for deal

Mikel Arteta has effectively given the Arsenal hierarchy the green light to complete a deal this month, before the January transfer window closes.

Arteta needs help, particularly in the forward department, and cited injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus when talking about signing a forward.

He said: "My opinion is clear, we lost two very important players in Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus so we lack goals, we lack people, we lack options in the front line, it's clear."

Wolves set Cunha asking price

Matheus Cunha is one of the names that has been linked with a January move to the Emirates Stadium. The Wolves frontman has scored ten goals and laid on four assists in 21 Premier League games for Wolves this season - he has been their standout star.

Losing him in the January transfer window would not be ideal, but they have set a price tag for him, should anyone be interested in signing him.

According to Sky Sports, Wolves have set the forward's price tag at £60million. Given the numbers thrown at Arsenal for the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko, it could be a bargain deal.

Met Office warning

Arsenal travel to Wolves on Saturday, where they can get a closer look at Cunha ahead of a potential transfer bid. However, there may be a slight concern that the match at Molineux could be postponed. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice in the West Midlands on Saturday with those travelling to the game advised to take care.

Thankfully, the warning runs until 10am, a full five hours before kick-off, so the game is unlikely to be postponed. However, several fixtures across English football have been called off this season due to inclement weather, including the Merseyside Derby between Everton and Liverpool due to Storm Darragh.
