Arsenal transfer state of play - Omar Marmoush race, Matheus Cunha stand-off, Kolo Muani loan
The January transfer window is set to open in just a matter of days and the rumour mill is in full spin as clubs prepare to make mid-season changes to their squads.
Arsenal have enjoyed a strong first half of the campaign and they remain locked in another title race. However, they are nine points behind league leaders Liverpool at this stage, but that gap can be reduced to six if they beat Brentford on New Year's Day.
Injuries have certainly played their part when Arsenal have struggled at points this season. Midfielder Martin Odegaard missed a long run of games, while Bukayo Saka is now set to be out for while due to a hamstring injury.

It is for that reason Arsenal's depth in forward areas is now looking worryingly thin. The Gunners have been regularly linked with strikers, with Gabriel Jesusnot prolific in front of goal since his move to The Emirates Stadium.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal's interim sporting director Jason Ayto is assessing the forward market ahead of the transfer window. RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko has been linked once again, as has Newcastle United's Alexander Isak and Eintracht Frankfurt's Omar Marmoush.
Viktor Gyokeres is hot property with a number of Premier League clubs rumoured to be eager to sign him from Sporting CP. While Arsenal are reportedly considering all of these names, the problem they face is they are not expected to be available in January.
Wolves' Matheus Cunha is a more recent name to be added to the list of possible targets and the contract stand-off with his current club could present an opportunity. The forward joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid in 2023 and is under contract until 2027, but is yet to agree terms to extend his stay at Molineux beyond that.
Randal Kolo Muani, according to the Mail, is expected to be available in January but the France international has failed to impress or make any waves at Paris Saint-Germain. Nico Williams is the final name mentioned, but isn't expected to push for a move away from his boyhood club, Athletic Bilbao.
The only other position highlighted in the report is the goalkeeper. David Raya is the current first choice and there isn't expected to be any imminent changes in that department, although Sevilla's Lucien Agoume and Atalanta's Marco Carnesecchi have been named as possible targets for the summer transfer window.
