Arsenal 'working' on transfer as player flies in for talks amid Mikel Arteta stance on January moves
Arsenal transfer target Sverre Nypan is reportedly negotiating a move to not only the Emirates Stadium but Manchester City too as the Football Manager prodigy flies in for talks on Friday.
Last week it was reported that both the Gunners and their Premier League title rivals were leading the race to sign Rosenborg prodigy Nypan. At only 18 years of age he has already made 60 professional appearances.
Sharing nationality and on-field roles, naturally the teenager has earned comparisons to Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard. In his sort career 13 goals and 11 assists have been more than enough to impress.

And on Friday, the first sign of concrete movement in this saga arose. Norwegian outlet Adressa claimed to have spotted Nypan boarding a plane from Oslo Airport to Manchester - a seeming blow for Mikel Arteta and Co.
At this stage of reporting, his true destination was unknown. Working against Man City also is Nypan's boyhood support of Manchester United.
Last summer he told the United Norway podcast : "It would obviously be a dream come true to play for Manchester United.
"I'm aware United has shown some interest. But I'm quite adamant that I don't want to open that door yet. I want to focus on Rosenborg and not think too far ahead."
Except Fabrizio Romano 's follow-up claim suggested he would forget sentiment in making the next step of his career. The reporter suggested the Etihad Stadium was his destination as they prepare a formal proposal.
No sooner, The Athletic report Arsenal too have been attempting to sign Nypan.
Although he is meeting with rivals now, discussions have allegedly been taking place between Emirates Stadium chiefs and the midfielder's people.
Importantly the 'situation remains open', and Nypan's decision is not expected imminently once the latest talks have concluded.
Arteta, meanwhile, has spoken about Arsenal's need for new forwards amid injuries to Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri.
"My opinion is clear that we lost two very very important players, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus. So we lack goals, we lack people, we lack options in the frontline, it's clear," Arteta said at a press conference on Friday.
"It is clear that in the period that we lost them, ideally we need some help. We were short already and now we are even shorter. The team still copes with that."
