Mikel Arteta is dealing with several key members of his Arsenal squad on the sidelines through injury.

News emerged on Wednesday that Kai Havertz is expected to be ruled out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury. The Germany international picked up the injury during a training session in Dubai.

Havertz is the latest Arsenal star to join a growing injury list that Arteta is being forced to deal with this season. Gabriel Martinelli is sidelined with a hamstring injury and is expected to be sidelined for around a month.

Bukayo Saka is also recovering from a hamstring injury but Arsenal will hope the England international returns before the season's run-in. Ben White is also edging closer to a return, but Gabriel Jesus is ruled out for the season while a knee injury while there have been reports Takehiro Tomiyasu may be set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

With Arsenal's injury list growing, Arteta will be busy thinking about what line-up he will be able to pick for this weekend's Premier League match against Leicester City. White could return to the matchday squad following three months on the sidelines, but the form of Miles Lewis-Skelly at left-back means it will not be easy to find a defensive position to slot in to.

The rest of the back four and the midfield three, pretty much, picks itself, although the likes of Mikel Merino and Riccardo Calafiori will be hoping for starts in the upcoming run of fixtures.

It's the front three where Arteta will have some decisions to make.

The injury to Havertz means Arsenal does not have a fit recognised centre forward in the team.

Ethan Nwaneri will be in contention to start on the right wing, while Leandro Trossard and Raheem Sterling are likely to get starts across the front three.

Arsenal's current best starting line-up: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Rice, Partey, Odegaard; Nwaneri, Trossard, Sterling
