Arsenal Fan View: Next 4 matches will decide our season
It’s looking a lot like Christmas, ladies and gentlemen. Arsenal are set to play four games in nine days before heading into a short break. The games after that come at a similar pace as well, but for now let’s take a look at the immediate next fixtures for the club:
West Ham (Away and later at home)
Two legs over two different competitions await Arsenal against the Hammers in the coming seven days. Despite not having a great away record right now, the Gunners will fancy their chances at the London Stadium.

David Moyes’ return may turn the tide for the East London side in the Premier League, but that is not all they are competing in. After the Newcastle game, Arsenal cross horns again with West Ham but this time in the Carabao Cup.
The quarter-final is set to be competed at high tempo with both sides looking to make a run for the trophy. However, the North London team should be looking to gain maximum points as well as a semi-final berth from these two fixtures.
Newcastle (Home)
The second fixture for the Gunners at home will bring another relegation candidate to the Emirates. Rafa Benitez’ side makes the trip to London with not much hope of taking point(s) away.
Arsenal, however, will need to be on their guard if they cannot secure a good result away from home at West Ham before. The confidence-or otherwise-they gain from that game will make a lot of difference as to the result of this game.
Three points against the Magpies will put the side in a better state to take on West Ham in the quarterfinal later. Furthermore, it will better prepare the side for the toughest task before Christmas headed their way.
Liverpool (Home)
Let’s be honest about something here – Mo Salah will be the biggest problem Arsenal face at home this season.
The Gunners have already seen him tear them to pieces at Anfield in August. Hopefully, Wenger will have a proper defensive plan setup this time around to stop the mercurial Egyptian.

If everything has gone to plan, Wenger’s team will come into this game with three wins on their back. The best-case scenario would truly be a win here, but a draw probably wouldn’t be the worst thing either.
Emirates has been a fortress of sorts lately, and Arsenal should look to leave a marker by taking maximum points against the Reds. Going into the fresh year and Chelsea on the horizon, a win like this would propel the side into a truly Happy New Year.
